Immobilization Masks of The Pelvis and Abdomen
Pelvicast Immobilization
The Pelvicast High Precision Mask System for pelvis and abdomen immobilization consists of a unique combination of three carefully designed and engineered components:
1. Carbon fibre low density hardware.
2. Pelvicast thermoplastic masks.
3. Easy to insert and remove L-shaped profiles as interface between mask and base plate.
When integrated, they result in the most accurate, reproducible and comfortable patient immobilization and positioning system.
Pelvicast thermoplastic masks reduce the cranial-caudal and rotational movements of the patients. A specially designed leg separator can be inserted into the base plate after the patient has mounted the cushion, to fix a 6-points Pelvicast mask. This type of mask will increase the reproducibility and precision of the immobilization. An extensive range of Pelvicast masks are available to meet specific patient requirements and your immobilization preferences.
Note: All Pelvicast Thermoplastic masks can only be used with Orfits AIO 3.0 or Pelvicast base plates.

Orfit’s lightweight, professionally designed and precisely engineered hardware ensures outstanding patient immobilization results. The Orfit Base Plate design consists of a sandwich construction, with a foam core and ultra-thin carbon fiber layer. This results in very low density with the highest possible radiation transmission during treatment.

Immobilization Masks for Supine Breast Treatments
All thermoplastic masks for Supine breat treatments are used with the MammoRx Breast Board that allows you to easily immobilize patients in a comfortable and reproducible way.
The carbon fibre system meets and exceeds changing needs of radiation therapists. It is thin, strong and light and features lower attenuation levels.
Features & Benefits:
- Fits through most small-bore CT units.
- No metal components in CT scan areas.
- Enables single-side and bilateral patient immobilization.
Single-handed trigger action enables quick and easy movement of the upper-arm support between four standard settings, providing faster setup times for patients. - The hand support can be indexed in ten indexing holes. It allows a more comfortable and stable positioning.
- A plunger locks the angle support ladder in place. This prevents dislocking of the angle support and eliminates the risk of tilt-board collapse.
- Can be combined with Orfit thermoplastic masks for increased precision

Immobilization Masks for Extremity Cases.
Immobilizing lower and upper extremities has proven to be a real challenge: large setup errors, patient repositioning during treatment, cumbersome immobilization with the use of vacuum bags and other devices that are not ideal for this type of immobilization. The extremities solution pays special attention to hands and feet. It’s a dedicated solution that facilitates your treatment plan by avoiding patient repositioning and brings comfort to the treatment.
Knee and feet immobilization
Lower extremities are immobilized by use of a leg support, so one leg can be lifted and placed out of the treatment field. The other leg rests on the base plate. Masks can be made on the leg support as well as on the base plate itself. Foam cushions are placed under the knee and heel to provide patient comfort.
Arm and hand immobilization
Upper extremities can be immobilized while the patient is lying on the couch or sitting next to it. In both cases, masks are made over the elbow and hand to obtain an immobilization with excellent reproducibility. Comfort cushions are used under the elbow and hand for patient comfort.
Shoulder immobilization
Shoulder and arm are immobilized with the arm alongside the body. The base plate can be placed off center to increase the flexibility of the arm and shoulder positioning. A left and right sided version of the 5 points shoulder mask are available.
All Masks for extremities require an Extremities Base Plate. See Baseplate Here>

Patient Positioning Solutions for Body Immobilization Masks
Patient positioning in radiation therapy is a critical aspect of the treatment process, demanding the utmost precision, accuracy, and reproducibility. Accurate positioning ensures that the radiation is delivered precisely to the targeted tumor with minimal exposure to surrounding healthy tissues, reducing potential side effects and increasing the effectiveness of the treatment.
Reproducibility is equally vital, as it ensures that the patient is positioned consistently in the same manner for each treatment session, which is essential for the cumulative dose to reach its intended effect without deviation. Precision in patient positioning not only enhances the treatment’s impact but also bolsters the patient’s confidence in the therapy’s safety and effectiveness. Together, these factors contribute significantly to the overall success and efficiency of radiation therapy.
